How stories are chosen
We track what people across the UK are reading and searching for, and cover the stories that are genuinely being talked about. We use software, including AI tools, to spot trending topics and to help prepare first drafts.
Human editors are in charge
Nothing is published automatically. Every article is read, fact-checked and approved by a human editor, who is responsible for what appears on the site.
Accuracy and sources
We only report what we can support with reliable sources, and we credit the outlets that broke or confirmed a story. Claims that are unconfirmed are clearly described as such. Articles are written in our own words; short quotes are attributed.
Fairness
We avoid misleading headlines, we do not speculate about the guilt of people in live criminal cases, and we treat tragedies and the people involved with respect.
Images
We only use images we have the right to use: official handouts, licensed agency pictures, Creative Commons images or embedded social posts, credited where required.
